Recently on The Patrick Madrid Show, Kevin from Florida called in to ask Patrick about the National Eucharistic Congress (NEC) and what we as individual Catholics can hope to gain from the Congress and what we should expect.
Kevin said that he intends to go and wants to know what a reasonable and fruitful outcome would look like for us and our Catholic brothers and sisters.
“Well, the goal of course would be that you, as a follower of Jesus, would draw ever closer to Him by your experience at the Eucharistic Congress next year,” said Patrick. “The goal of it is to deepen, fortify, and invigorate people’s love for the Holy Eucharist, Jesus of course present under the appearance of bread in the Holy Eucharist, in the tabernacle and in the monstrance.”
The Congress will feature talks from some of the most renowned Catholic personalities, Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Mass, the Family Rosary Across America, and much more, all in the name of deepening our love for Jesus, present in the Eucharist. Lucas Oil Stadium, the venue for the NEC, can fit up to 80,000 people and it will provide the perfect environment for fellowship and formation alike.
Kevin followed up by explaining that in addition to going himself, he intended to organize a group from his parish to attend together. But he explained that a significant portion of his parish speaks Spanish and Creole, and not English.
“I’m wondering if they would feel that they could also participate, although most of them don’t speak English.”
“Oh, absolutely! This is for everybody,” said Patrick. “All Catholics. It doesn’t matter what language you speak. Of course, the Lord will be there with you and your brothers and sisters will be there as well, but yes, there will definitely be multi-lingual tracks for people whose language is not English.”
Kevin said he is a superfan of Eucharistic Adoration, and he is excited for the events to come at the Congress, as well as the opportunity to meet Patrick, Drew Mariani, Fr. Rocky, and all the other Catholic personalities that will be present in Indianapolis next July.
