Sometimes in life it seems like a certain choice will check most of the right boxes, but one box that’s not checked will seem like a big one. In this case, it’s a matter of a romantic relationship that could become a marriage.
Patrick Madrid talks to Shannon from Colorado Springs, who expresses doubts and questions about her fiancé, who is a practicing Catholic but may not share all of her interests and values. She mentions concerns about their compatibility in terms of activities, education choices for their future children, and her doubts about feeling a strong romantic connection. She feels like he is not as “masculine” as she would like him to be, but friends have told her that she needs to let this version of him go. Patrick said that there are so many positives about him, but at the same time, there is no reason why she can’t be honest about how she’s feeling.
Patrick Madrid emphasizes the importance of clear communication and understanding each other’s perspectives, as well as the reality that no marriage is without its challenges and compromises.
