“Is it Okay to do Easter Egg Hunts for our Kids?” (Special Podcast Highlight)

Have you ever wondered if letting your little ones loose in the garden, searching for those brightly colored Easter eggs might just be leading them a tad away from the monumental meaning of Easter? Well, you’re not alone in this Easter egg conundrum! Amy from Oceanside, California, brought this “egg-ceptionally” good question to the Patrick Madrid Show.

Patrick shared some golden yolks of wisdom. He reassured Amy (and all of us listening in) that as long as our kiddos are grounded in the true essence of Easter – that is, celebrating Jesus Christ’s resurrection and His divine love for us – then adding a sprinkle of secular fun like Easter egg hunts is totally fine! 🕊️

Think of it as a chocolate-covered marshmallow peep: sweet on the outside but with a core that holds the real treasure.  Patrick paralleled this with Christmas celebrations, noting that it’s completely okay to enjoy the festive trimmings as long as the heart of the celebration remains focused on Jesus’s birth and His ultimate gift of love and salvation to us.

So, go ahead and hide those eggs in the most challenging nooks and crannies of your garden, because it’s all in good faith (literally!). And remember, as long as Jesus remains the reason for the season in your family’s heart, you’re on the right track to a faith-filled, fun-filled Easter celebration!
