Mary’s Journey from Pro-Choice Uncertainty to Pro-Life Clarity (The Patrick Madrid Show)

You might have heard someone argue that “they’re personally opposed to abortion, but they can’t impose their beliefs on others.”

What would you say in response?

Mary from Pheonix reached out to Patrick conflicted about her stance on pro-life vs. pro-choice issues, despite personally disliking abortion based on a traumatic experience she had at 40. Initially, Mary expressed that her heart and mind were at odds, revealing she had an abortion, which led her to struggle with justifying her pro-choice leaning.

Patrick skillfully challenged Mary to reconsider her views through a compassionate yet logical examination of what defending something inherently painful meant for her. He compared the dehumanization in abortion to historical injustices like slavery, emphasizing that “a clump of cells” is still human life, a point often diminished by pro-choice rhetoric.

Patrick argued that opposing abortion isn’t merely a religious stance but a moral one. He reassured Mary that her conflict was a sign of unresolved pain from her abortion, suggesting that true healing begins with acknowledging and repenting the past actions.

Patrick encouraged continued healing and prayer, recommending Mary visit a church in her area for quiet reflection and healing in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

Please pray for Mary and keep her in your intentions, that she might find true and lasting peace.
