Fr. Kris Stubna joins Patrick to discuss the holy name of Jesus.

· (2:26) Fr. Kris Stubna unpacks the importance of names in general, in the Church and in the Bible. He shares the beauty and power in the name above all names, The holy name of Jesus.

· Fr. Stubna discusses the meaning of the name of Jesus as a connection between God and his people.

· Tom – I have taken other names besides my first names and added patron saint names. Is this appropriate?

· (21:33) Valerie – Sometimes I start to use Jesus’ name. How can I do better?

· Fr. Stubna speaks to the power of calling on the name of Jesus with reverence.

· Mary Ann – Saying the name of Jesus is a prayer in itself. Helps me focus on God and Jesus. brings me joy.

· Margaret – I call out to the name of Jesus all the time. His name means so much to me.

· Nancy – Whenever my husband and I argue it helps to call upon the name of Jesus.

· (36:49) Janet – My son drowned and we called on the name of Jesus. He was miraculously saved.

· Calling on the name of Jesus makes him present to us, but what if things don’t go the way we hoped? Fr. Stubna explains

· Fr. Stubna explains practical ways to give greater reverence to the holy name of Jesus and explains how St. Benardine of Sienna fostered devotion to the holy name of Jesus.

· Virginia – Names designate a person with essential qualities. i feel like when you say name you are saying the whole person.

Patrick Conley was born, raised, and baptized in Wisconsin in a Protestant tradition. After meeting his wife, Kendra, through an Evangelical ministry at the University of Minnesota, they entered the Catholic Church in 2010. They listened to Relevant Radio, specifically The Inner Life, while preparing to enter the Church. Conley now holds a degree in theology from Oxford University and has served the Church in both academic theology and grassroots pastoral ministry. Conley teaches religion classes in a Catholic elementary school, serves as his parish Director of Religious Education, and is in formation for the permanent diaconate. He also hosts Practicing Catholic on Relevant Radio, exclusive to the Minneapolis area’s airwaves, and is a traveling presenter for the Catherine of Siena Institute apostolate. He lives in rural Wisconsin with his wife and their bulldogs, Georgie and Bingley.
