Key Points from the Episode:
🧠 Anxiety is Contagious: If you’re an anxious parent, your kids are likely picking up on it. So, model healthy anxiety management: like deep breaths, shifting your mindset, and trusting God.
💬 Talk About It: Kids (and spouses!) benefit when you share your struggles and how you overcame them. Instead of just silently stressing, say something like: “Yeah, I was worried about that too, but here’s how I handled it.”
🙏 Trust in Divine Providence: God’s got this. Seriously. Doug and Monica remind us that St. Paul wasn’t kidding when he said, “All things work for the good for those who love God.” (Romans 8:28). Anxiety doesn’t change the outcome, so lean into faith instead of fear.
💍 Anxiety Can Wreck Marriages: If one spouse is constantly worried, it can stress both people out. And guess what? No one has ever said: “Things were rough, then I started worrying, and suddenly, everything got better!” Worry is not a life hack.
Anxiety Is Highly Treatable: If it’s taking over your life, don’t just suffer… get help! Therapy, prayer, mindset shifts; there are so many good options.
Worry less. Trust more. God’s in control. 🕊💙
