John Morales chats with Dr. Robert Moynihan, editor of Inside the Vatican Magazine, to prep us for the Conclave which will begin tomorrow.
🕊️ The Holy Spirit Is in Charge
John Morales reminds us: Only the Holy Spirit knows who the next Pope will be. That doesn’t stop people (including us) from wondering, though. Dr. Moynihan, who’s been at every major conclave since JPII, reminds us that these sacred gatherings are filled with mystery and deep prayer.
✝️ What’s the Feeling in Rome?
Double atmosphere: Part pilgrimage experience (pilgrims flocking to St. Peter’s Square!) and part solemn silence (Sistine Chapel on full lockdown 🔒).
Overflow alert: There are more than 120 electors this time!
What Are the Cardinals Even Discussing?
Before they vote, Dr. Moynihan tells us that the Cardinals have deep conversations about what the Church needs:
Charisma vs. Structure: Do we want a bold evangelizer or a rock-solid administrator?
Local vs. Global: Is it time to return to an Italian Pope, or go global again?
Evangelizing in a Post-Christian World: How do we speak to hearts in an age of distraction?
Get to know the cardinals on our new Conclave website! One of them could be our future Pope!
🙏 Final Thoughts
Dr. Moynihan and John Morales agree: The Church needs a man of deep faith, able to resist modern pressures and lead us in love and truth. 🤍
And above all, they urge us to PRAY for the Cardinals, for wisdom, unity, and clarity as they choose the next Successor of Peter. 🕊️
