A Birthday Prayer for Two Brothers (Family Rosary Across America)

Sometimes the sweetest prayer intentions are also the simplest.

On the Family Rosary Across America, 6-year-old Sam from St. Paul, Minnesota, called Fr. Rocky with a special intention. Sam had celebrated his birthday the week before, and his little brother, Mikey, was about to turn 3.

“I’m just praying we have a nice birthday,” Sam said.

When Fr. Rocky asked what a nice birthday might look like, Sam wasn’t about to speak for his brother: “Well, I don’t know what Mikey has because I’m not Mikey.”

Fr. Rocky suggested cake, ice cream, and maybe even a baseball bat, while Maggie added one more important ingredient: lots of hugs.

Then Maggie gave the brothers an extra gift, singing “Happy Birthday” to Mikey and Sam.

Sam’s verdict?

“I like it.”

A simple prayer, a brother’s birthday, and a little joy shared by the Relevant Radio family. Pretty special indeed.
