For anyone carrying anxiety, depression, loneliness, or years of suffering, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge has a message: Never give up hope.
Speaking with Doug Hinderer on Marriage Unhindered, Bishop Burbidge reflected on Jesus as the Divine Physician and the healing found through faith.
“Do you believe I can do this for you?” Bishop Burbidge recalled Jesus asking those who sought healing. His invitation for us is simple: “Yes, Lord, I believe you can do this for me.”
That trust does not mean Christians will escape suffering. Bishop Burbidge pointed to Mary standing at the foot of the Cross. Now, he said, she accompanies us as we carry our own crosses.
For those overwhelmed by mental health struggles, Bishop Burbidge also emphasized that God can work through faithful mental health professionals and the support of His Church.
“Jesus knows you by name. He loves you. His Church loves you,” he said. “Jesus is always in our midst.”
