On today’s Inner Life, Fr. Marcel Taillon joins to discuss The Church On Mission

  • Evelyn – Mission at our parish. I do it every week for homebound people.
  • Debbie – Question: I would like to go about presenting or somehow dialoguing with priests in terms of making an awareness of Marian apparitions and lives of the saints. Why is that not being discussed as a mission of the church?
  • Mayra – I’ve done a lot of mission work overseas, but I’ve been sending cards to widows at Valentines Day. I send a card once a month for a year and a half to let them know that someone is thinking of them.

  • Christine – I go up to strangers in stores and I offer a slip (handout – first part about St. Faustina) and ask if they’re Catholic or protestant. I wait for their response.
  • Rose – As an elderly person, I’ve begun as an elderly shut-in to make calls. At the end of the conversation, I’ve started to say, ‘God bless you.’ People enthusiasticaly respond to it.

Patrick Conley

Patrick Conley was born, raised, and baptized in Wisconsin in a Protestant tradition. After meeting his wife, Kendra, through an Evangelical ministry at the University of Minnesota, they entered the Catholic Church in 2010. They listened to Relevant Radio, specifically The Inner Life, while preparing to enter the Church. Conley now holds a degree in theology from Oxford University and has served the Church in both academic theology and grassroots pastoral ministry. Conley teaches religion classes in a Catholic elementary school, serves as his parish Director of Religious Education, and is in formation for the permanent diaconate. He also hosts Practicing Catholic on Relevant Radio, exclusive to the Minneapolis area’s airwaves, and is a traveling presenter for the Catherine of Siena Institute apostolate. He lives in rural Wisconsin with his wife and their bulldogs, Georgie and Bingley.
