The Eucharist Is Jesus For Real – Inner Life – October 28, 2026

On today’s Inner Life, Fr. John Eckert joins to discuss The Eucharist Is Jesus For Real.

  • (14:17) Anisha – I was raised Hindu and had a Eucharistic healing while still Hindu. I became Catholic 9 years ago and want to invite all back to our Lord.
  • Break 1
  • (20:43) Bob – What do you say to people who are dealing with church closings and say it’s not the same if I’m not receiving the Eucharist in my own church? Is there a teaching to this to prove that this is real and Jesus is real and it doesn’t matter which building you’re in?
  • (26:32) Margaret – Experience I had in my early 20’s. I was ready to graduate from college. My parents stopped going to Mass after my 1st communion. I wanted to find a church to go to and decided to go back to the Catholic church. Such a moving experience when the priest raised the host. I knew I couldn’t go anywhere else. I was convicted and knew this was the place to go.
  • (30:59) Blanca – How do I explain to my son about the Eucharist when he says that God is present everywhere?
  • (35:31) Nancy – I’m of a much older generation. When I made my 1st communion, we were still fasting after midnight. The Sisters told us we had to spit everything out after brushing teeth in the morning. I think I understood it as much as I could. When older, everything changed and we didn’t have to fast. For me, something about the reverence was lost.
  • Break 2
  • (45:23) My husband and I have gone to adoration for 35 years. Children used to go with us. Son was fidgeting. We prayed the Rosary and for a different person on every bead. Prayed for every dead baseball player! Taking them (kids) to adoration really helped and they still go now. Also, this led my husband to the diaconate and to be active in the Kairos prison ministry.
  • (48:56) Kathy – When I receive, it’s almost like I have a childlike love and can’t help but smile all the way up to the priest. I frequently have tears and can’t wait to get up to the front of the line.
