Well, with recent clock adjustments and the implementation of new, more efficient technology, we are able to deliver 26,280 minutes of non-commercial content back to our listeners each year. That’s 18 days a year of more inspiring Catholic content to feed your soul!
On Monday, July 16, Relevant Radio launched the next third phase of this greatly anticipated engineering project, which began with new hardware installation across the network and now has concluded with the implementation of XDS systems, a broadcast system that delivers schedules and audio with our new satellite system. These upgrades bring Relevant Radio technology up-to-date and in like with industry standards.
“A huge congratulations and thank you to Frankie and everyone on his team for the successful launch of the XDS system, a project that has been under consideration for several years. The XDS system is very responsive to our broadcasting needs and will allow us to sound even better, sharper, crisper, clearer, cleaner, and tighter on air. We all tend to take Engineering for granted and have little knowledge and perhaps appreciation for the hard work and technical competence of this team,” said Rev. Francis Hoffman “Father Rocky”, Executive Director.
Benefits of the new systems are numerous, allowing Relevant Radio more flexibility to bring you breaking news events and live broadcasts and increasing reliability as the new systems are less susceptible to environmental conditions like temperature and inclement weather. It also increases the quality of audio and expands our ability to offer specialized programs and customized content to affiliates and other media networks.
Members of our Engineering and Programming teams worked through the night to ensure a smooth transition after months and months of preparation. The project wouldn’t have been possible without the help and leadership of Frank Maranzino, Director of Engineering and Technical Services, as well as Marty Jury, Josh Raymond, Tim Heiney, David Born, and other members of the engineering and programming departments. Thanks to their continued work and dedication, Relevant Radio is now even clearer, more efficient, and more secure.
