Join in prayer for the US bishops and the Church

It’s a new year, but still as important as ever that we continue to make strides towards positive change in the Catholic Church. The good news is that you and I can do something. We can help a distressed, hurting Church with our prayers.

The Lord is calling all of the baptized to fidelity in their vocation. Let us pray that all ordained ministers be faithful to their vows of chastity, and that everyone in the Church recommit themselves to honesty. Only with truthfulness, will the Church be able to regain the credibility needed to preach the risen Christ.

Our bishops in the United States have recognized the need for healing and reform, and have gathered for a weeklong retreat at Mundelein Seminary. Can you spend one hour in Eucharistic Adoration this week to pray for the US bishops on retreat?

The Holy Father, Pope Francis, wrote a letter to the US bishops, urging them to find unity and be leaders “who can teach others to discern God’s presence in the history of his people, and not mere administrators.”

We pray for our bishops to be inspired to guide us with truth and justice, and for our Church and especially the victims of abuse to find healing and peace. Thank you for joining us in prayer.
