Archbishop Jose Gomez Honored with the 2019 Los Angeles Christ Brings Hope Award

Hundreds of Relevant Radio® listeners gathered at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles last night to honor The Most Rev. José H. Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles, with the Christ Brings Hope Award.

A lively and energetic crowd packed the ballroom at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel for the Christ Brings Hope Award Dinner

The Christ Brings Hope Award is presented by Relevant Radio to an American Catholic who has worked with extraordinary dedication to bring the good news and hope of Christ to all souls. This person exemplifies the virtues of charity, generosity, hope, apostolic zeal, and love for the Truth. Archbishop Gomez has worked tirelessly for years to bring the hope and the joy of Christ to the people of Los Angeles and beyond. He serves on the Board of Directors for Relevant Radio and has been a strong leader in promoting the dignity of all human life.

The video below, played at the awards dinner last night, shows the extraordinary leadership Archbishop Gomez has shown in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Accepting the award from Rev. Francis “Fr. Rocky” Hoffman, Executive Director/CEO of Relevant Radio, Archbishop Gomez commented on the appropriateness of the award’s name, Christ indeed does bring hope, and thus we are a people of great joy! Attendees gave Archbishop Gomez an extended standing ovation, in appreciation for his courageous and humble leadership, and his love for Christ and his flock.

The Most Rev. Jose H. Gomez

The energy at the awards dinner was high, and a great sense of camaraderie could be felt throughout the evening. In honor of Memorial Day earlier this week, Fr. Rocky sang a few lines from America the Beautiful, and the entire crowd joined in to sing along!

More than a dozen priests were in attendance, and in a moving gesture they all gathered together on stage toward the end of the evening to bestow their priestly blessing on the work of Relevant Radio and on all those in attendance. It was truly a blessed event!
