Changes are on the horizon for a beloved midday show on the Relevant Radio^® network. The Inner Life^® with Chuck Neff will bid farewell to its longtime host as Neff is set to retire at the end of February.

As Neff reflected on his time with Relevant Radio, he said, “Looking back on almost 16 years, I can say that it’s been the best part of my career in broadcasting.”

The Inner Life offers daily spiritual direction and advice from wise and thoughtful priests on a variety of topics.

“The best part has been hearing the stories of our listeners and walking with them through the ups and downs of their lives. From the joy of finding the truth of the Catholic faith to healing from a past abortion, the stories of our listeners would often bring tears to my eyes. It’s a good thing you can’t see people cry on radio!” said Neff.

The many associates who had a chance to work with him over the past sixteen years have been blessed by his calming presence. Nicholas Schmitz, producer for The Inner Life, was struck by Chuck’s authentic care and compassion for each of his listeners, and says that Chuck helped him grow in faith.

In retirement, Chuck Neff is looking forward to spending more time with his wife, Judy, more opportunities for traveling, and maybe even writing a book or two.

“I have often said that hosting The Inner Life has been the best job I’ve ever had.”

Future of The Inner Life

Fear not, The Inner Life is not going away. Rather, the show will welcome a new host, Josh Raymond, beginning Monday, March 1. For regular listeners, his name is not unfamiliar. Raymond has served as guest host for The Inner Life in years past and has been with the Relevant Radio network since 2005. Most recently he has served as Vice President – Director of Programming and Production.

“I know I’m stepping into some big shoes, following after a consummate professional, dedicated Catholic and all-around nice guy like Chuck, but I’m excited and humbled to have the opportunity to continue this important program.  I’m really looking forward to speaking to Relevant Radio listeners each day as we journey together and strive to grow closer to Christ,” said Raymond.

Josh was raised as a Baptist and entered the Catholic Church in 2004. His career in broadcasting began over twenty years ago, first in secular radio and then transitioning to Christian radio. He and his wife, Belén, have nine children and live in Wisconsin.

“Over the years Chuck has assembled an outstanding bullpen of holy, pastoral, knowledgeable and faithful priests. We’re happy that Josh will be able to pick up where Chuck leaves off,” said Rev. Francis Hoffman “Fr. Rocky”, Executive Director/CEO of Relevant Radio.
