📅 The Date Is Set: May 7th!

Patrick confirmed that the conclave to elect our next Holy Father will officially begin on Wednesday May 7th.

That’s right around the corner.

-Many of the cardinals don’t actually know each other!

These few days before the conclave are critical: a time for introductions, conversations, and good old-fashioned “getting to know you” chats.

“Front Runner” Folklore

Patrick said there’s a saying that “whoever enters the conclave a favorite comes out a cardinal.”

Patrick did admit, though, that Cardinal Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI 🙏) was a front runner…and he did become pope, so maybe there are exceptions to the rule!

Human factors like personality, strengths, and weaknesses are still very real.
