Remembering dads

Doug discusses the 4 different types of dads; PLUS: A tribute to all the dads in the world.

Listener questions and comments:

  • Pete – As a father, the best moment of my life was when my first child was placed in my hands and nestled up to me. (12:15)
  • Mary Frances – My dad died 5 years ago. When I was little, he was my rock, especially when my mom was sick. He’d come home late and do evening prayers with us. However, my parents divorced. I wish my siblings had known that same devotion that I saw from my dad. (13:16)
  • Rae – We had a power mower that my husband would fix, and he named the mower Robocrop. (32:29)
  • James – I’m a relatively new dad and the youngest of 6 in my family. I grew up hearing from my siblings the difficulties of parenthood, but they never warned me about how nice it is to be a father. (34:01)
  • Gary – My father had open heart surgery in 1967, and he did his best to help out. He had three open heart surgeries and died in 1975. (36:01)
