Welcoming the Sacred Heart Into Your Home (Marriage Unhindered)

What if one simple act of faith could change the spiritual atmosphere of your home?

On Marriage Unhindered, Doug Hinderer spoke with author Emily Jaminet about the devotion of enthroning the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home. The practice invites families to place an image of the Sacred Heart in a central place and intentionally dedicate their lives and relationships to Christ.

Emily explained that preparation matters, but perfection does not. She encouraged families not to let feelings of unworthiness stop them from beginning. Whether a household is struggling or thriving, the Sacred Heart devotion is an invitation to deeper love, healing, and trust in Christ.

The conversation also highlighted the importance of making the enthronement a true celebration. Families often gather for prayer, invite friends or parishioners for a meal, and mark the occasion as a joyful commitment to Christ-centered living.

A caller shared how devotion to the Sacred Heart and attending Mass on nine consecutive First Fridays brought many graces to her family. Emily reflected on the “Great Promise” given to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque: that those who faithfully receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays will receive special graces and Christ’s mercy at the hour of death.

As Doug noted, these devotions are not superstition. They are invitations to open our hearts more fully to Jesus and allow His love to transform daily life, marriage, and family relationships.
