New Station Reaches 337,000 in California

The Relevant Radio® family continues to grow. Today, Relevant Radio is pleased to announce that a new station has joined the network of owned and operated stations—K250BR 97.9 FM in Modesto, California.

This FM translator will reach 337,000 souls in the Modesto area with a powerful signal. The project has been in the works for several years since receiving a Construction Permit from the Federal Communications Commission.

“The engineers had to do studies on what tower to broadcast from and what antenna to use to reach the greatest amount of people. We found a great site in Modesto that allows us to cover the most possible souls with the amount of power the FCC allows,” explained Andrew McFarland, Director of Facilities at Relevant Radio.

97.9 FM joins the already strong 840 AM signal in reaching the Modesto area. It’s a great option for those who prefer listening on FM stations. Congratulations to Bob Kay and the team of engineers who put in lots of hard work to build the tower.

“More people listen to FM stations than AM stations, so this is a great opportunity to reach more Catholics and also bring the Good News to non-Catholics who find us as they scan the radio dial,” said Fr. Francis Hoffman “Father Rocky”, Executive Director/CEO at Relevant Radio.

This announcement comes after a record year for Relevant Radio, during which the network announced a deal with Salem Media Group to purchase fourteen stations in several major markets. Last fall, Relevant Radio began broadcasting on owned and operated stations in Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Denver, San Antonio, Houston, St. Louis, and Youngstown, OH.

The network extends a special welcome to new listeners in Modesto. If you have family or friends in the area, help spread the word!
